Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic combined for 29 points and 30 rebounds in a 95-85 Minnesota Timberwolves win over the Milwaukee Bucks Friday.
Love struggled shooting the ball, making just 5 of 19 shots. Pekovic was just 5 of 12 from the field, but the starting frontline helped Minnesota out-rebound the Bucks, 56-47, and improve to 7-8 on the season.
The Timberwolves offense had a balanced night, with five players reaching double figures. Alexey Shved scored 16 points off the bench, and Luke Ridnour had 16. Love and J.J. Barea each scored 15 points and Pekovic had 14. Minnesota shot just 39 percent as a team, but held Milwaukee to 34 percent shooting.
The Bucks were led by Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, who each scored 18 points, but they needed 41 shots to get those 36 points. Rookie John Henson scored 10 points and Larry Sanders had 10 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for Milwaukee.
