Timberwolves Vs. Nuggets: Kevin Love, Minnesota Looking To Go Above .500

The Minnesota Timberwolves are the quintessential .500 team in the NBA. First, it took them multiple games of being just shy of .500 to finally get there, and then they jumped above it a couple games before losing four-straight. Now, sitting at 16-16 on the season, they've won three-straight games and can go above .500 with a win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday. Their last three outings were solid wings, a 102-90 affair over Charlotte, a 111-98 victory over Houston and a very close 92-91 win over Philadelphia in their most recent game.

Denver is just above where the Timberwolves are right now, sitting at 17-15, but in danger of getting back to .500. The Nuggets have lost their last three outings, and have lost 10 of their last 13 games. They're losing close ones, but they're still losing, and that's all that matters. Their most recent outing was a 124-118 overtime loss to Oklahoma City.

If the Timberwolves are able to win on Monday, it will be their first four-game winning streak in two years, and the first time they've beat the Nuggets in seven games. Minnesota has benefited greatly from Kevin Love's return, as he's averaged 27.7 points per game and 16.3 rebounds per game over those last six contests.

The game is set for 8 p.m. on Monday night and can be watched on Fox Sports North.
