Kevin Love Suspension: Wolves' Forward Benched For Two Games By NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves got some bad news on Monday morning, as the NBA announced that star forward Kevin Love would be suspended for two games for stomping on the head of Houston Rockets' forward Luis Scola on Saturday night at the Target Center.

The incident happened in the first quarter of the game, as Scola drove to the basket and was defended by Love. No foul was called, and during the transition back the other way, Love stomped on Scola's head. After the game, Love said that it was "unintentional," but the video evidence makes it kind of hard to buy into that argument.

Love currently leads the Timberwolves in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 25 points and 13.7 rebounds per contest.

There has not yet been any word on whether or not Love would appeal the suspension. Minnesota's next two games are against the Sacramento Kings at the Target Center on Tuesday night, and a road game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
