Timberwolves Vs. Grizzlies: Minnesota Go For Two Wins Without Kevin Love

The Timberwolves try to go for two straight wins without their superstar Kevin Love as they head on the road to meet the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took their sweet time getting there, but they finally hit the .500 mark and then eclipsed it with an 86-84 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. They'll look to try and boost their stock to two games over .500 with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

Star forward Kevin Love missed the Sacramento game after being told he would serve a two game suspension for stomping on Luis Scola during the Wolves victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. The star player has been on an absolute tear this season after earning a huge contract extension but the Wolves proved that they could win without him with the win over the Kings. The Grizzlies will be a bit harder of a challenge than Sacramento, though they are middling around mediocrity at 12-13, thanks in part to a terrible run of form lately that's seen them win only three of their last ten games.

The Wolves will need more big games from names like Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams as the young team try to prove that they're not just 'Kevin Love and friends'. If they want to make a push for a playoff spot, having a team that can rely on each other more than simply Love will be an absolute necessity.

The game will be at the FedExForum at 8 PM ET.
