NBA Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic Discussing Dealing Jason Richardson To Minnesota?

NBA trade rumors are flowing a bit more freely with the trade deadline less than 48 hours away. The newest rumor might need to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's an interesting one that involves the Minnesota Timberwolves dealing for Orlando Magic shooting guard Jason Richardson.

Jarrod Rudolph, a RealGM contributor known as MisterRudolph on Twitter, posted early Tuesday evening that the Magic are in discussions with the Wolves regarding Richardson according to "league sources."

Rudolph is based in Orlando, something worth noting considering the Magic have something to gain by leaking as many trade rumors as possible in order to improve the market surrounding Dwight Howard. Speaking of Howard, however, the player the Magic could be targeting in return might be Michael Beasley considering the Ken Berger reports from earlier this month.

It hasn't been reported earlier that Beasley and Howard are good friends or anything, but considering Berger is reporting that both the Nets and Magic are interested in his services in hopes of wooing Howard, there must be something there. It'd be interesting to see what the Magic are offering in return.

Trading Beasley for Richardson probably doesn't make complete sense straight up considering the latter is owed $24 million over the next four years whereas Beasley could become a free agent this season.
