Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes and, during the winter, all of those lakes get frozen. When lakes are frozen, as this Bemidji State alumnus is well aware, the locals go ice fishing.
Minnesota Timberwolves rookies Derrick Williams and Malcolm Lee recently took part in the activity for the first time and, thankfully, they brought a video camera so we were able to embed the video included below.
Lee was recently assigned to the NBA Development League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, but it wasn't because his ice fishing skills aren't up to par. Despite going fishing for the first time since he was seven, the video evidence shows that he was able to keep up with Williams -- who has fishing in his blood -- by equaling the three fish that he caught.
It seems kind of like they were cheating with the camera, but since it made Lee think the fish looked piranhas, that was probably worth it.
