Timberwolves Vs. Celtics: Minnesota Goes For Win At Home

The Minnesota Timberwolves will try and break a nine game losing streak versus Boston when they face the Celtics on Friday.

The Boston Celtics started the year a bit cold but have heated up as the lockout shortened season comes to a close, holding a spot near the top of the Atlantic Division right now and having five wins in their last six games. Former Wolves star Kevin Garnett has led them along with Paul Pierce as their 'big three' set up has looked significantly less impressive than it did when they won the NBA title in 2008.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on a single game winning streak, which is just about the best they've had in recent weeks with injury keeping them low in the Western Conference charts and out of the playoff spots. The Wolves have a chance to make it two in a row when they welcome the Celtics to Target Center on Friday.

The Timberwolves have suffered nine straight losses to the Celtics in any building, and Kevin Love will need to have a rare breakout performance against Boston if the Wolves want to snap that streak.

The game will be at Target Center at 8:00 p.m. ET.
