The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost 10 straight games, their worst losing streak since losing a franchise-worst 18 straight last season, and it didn't look any better through the first quarter on Tuesday night. However, a strong second quarter has the Timberwolves up one at the half, 56-55.
Memphis, currently the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, led by 10 points after the first quarter, but the Timberwolves outscored the Griz 34-23 in the second quarter behind eight points from Nikola Pekovic. He had 10 in the half. Jose Barea, starting because of injuries to Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour, has a game-high 19 points. He scored 12 straight for the Timberwolves in the first quarter.
The Grizzlies have four players in double figures. Marreese Speights leads them with 12 points.
