Cold meets colder Thursday when the Minnesota Timberwolves hit the road to play the Detroit Pistons.
And even though Detroit is coming off a 32-point loss, Minnesota is the colder of the two.
The Timberwolves, 25-38, have lost 11 straight, the second-longest streak in the NBA behind the historically woeful Charlotte Bobcats. The losses have often been close; Minnesota lost by seven on Tuesday to Memphis, and by five last Saturday to Oklahoma City, each of which are playoff teams.
All the same, it's been rough lately.
Kevin Love has missed four straight games since an April 11 concussion sustained against the Denver Nuggets. The Star Tribune reported that Love began his NBA-mandated concussion tests on Wednesday and isn't expected back until Sunday's game against the Golden State Warriors.
The Pistons are going through their own rough stretch. They've lost six of eight, including a beatdown Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. In that one, the Pistons trailed by 30 at halftime. Three of their last six losses have come by at least 23 points.
Thursday's game starts at 7:30 ET.
