April started not with a bang but with a whimper for the Minnesota Timberwolves, losing to the Portland Trail Blazers on April Fool's Day 119-106. The playoffs are starting to fade from view as only 12 games remain in their season, but with Kevin Love healthy there's still a chance that they can make a run. They'll need to start winning games again very, very soon if they want that to happen though.
Monday brings the Wolves to Sacramento to face the Kings. While Minnesota is outside the playoff picture looking in, the 18-34 Kings were out of it completely pretty early into the season. They did get that sweet new stadium deal though, keeping them in Sacramento for the future. Their most recent loss was a bit uglier than the Wolves loss to Portland, as it is most times a team loses to New Jersey.
On Wednesday the Golden State Warriors will come to town. Another out of form team, their 20-31 record has them well out of the playoff discussion as well. They also lost to the Nets recently.
On Saturday the Wolves will meet the New Orleans Hornets, who have lost to pretty much everyone including the Nets this year en route to a 13-40 record, one of the worst in the NBA this season.
