NBA Mock Draft 2012: Chad Ford Sends Arnett Moultrie To Minnesota

NBA mock drafts should, in theory, be getting closer to the truth this week with the 2012 version just a few days away. It's unclear if that's good or bad news for fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves, however, considering ESPN's Chad Ford released his newest mock draft on Thursday with Arnett Moultrie heading to the Wolves.

Moultrie is a 6-foot-11 big who ended up at Mississippi State after starting his college career at UTEP. He doesn't exactly fill a need, but Ford's reasoning for the Wolves picking him makes sense.

The Wolves are really hoping a sweet-shooting 2-guard will fall to them here. Alas for Minnesota, it looks as if they'll all be taken in the lottery. That leaves the Wolves with three options: (1) They can go with an athletic big man, such as Moultrie, Fab Melo or a real dark horse such as Miles Plumlee; (2) they can reach for the next best 2-guard, Will Barton; (3) they could try to use forward Derrick Williams as trade bait to move up in the draft.

It'll be interesting to see if the Wolves even keep this pick and, if they do, if they decide to reach for a shooting guard or take the best player available.
