In addition to Budinger, the Timberwolves also picked up the rights to Israeli Lior Eliyahu, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal leaves Minnesota with no first-round picks. Its lone pick will be No. 58 overall.
Last season Budinger, who played three seasons of college basketball at Arizona, averaged 9.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 22 minutes per game for the Rockets.
Drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the second round in 2009, Budinger shot 40.2 percent from three-point range last year.
