Free Agency 2012: Timberwolves Reportedly Waive Forward Martell Webster

Though it once appeared they would be holding his contract for flexibility in a possible Nicolas Batum sign-and-trade, the Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly waived small forward Martell Webster on Friday according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski:

Webster started 27 of his 93 games with the T-Wolves over the last two seasons, but rarely brought much to the table other than a dangerous stroke from the three-point line. The No. 6 overall pick back by Portland in 2005 straight out of high school, the 6-foot-7 swingman remains just 25 years old despite having seven years of NBA experience under his belt.

After a promising season in 07-08 where averaged 10.7 points per night with the Blazers, a series of injuries the following year appears to have slowed down Webster's development quite significantly, and it's anyone's guess where he'll wind up.
