Gregg Stiemsma Discussions With Minnesota Timberwolves Pushed To Saturday

The Minnesota Timberwolves have delayed negotiations with restricted free agent Greg Stiemsma until Saturday so that the team can organize the cap implications that will come with the verbal agreements the organization has made with Brandon Roy and Nicolas Batum, according to Jerry Zgoda.

On Thursday night, Minnesota submitted an offer sheet to Batum who is still tied to the Portland Trail Blazers because he is a restricted free agent. The Trail Blazers have said that they plan to match any offer that is submitted to Batum and will have to decide if they wish to do so with the Timberwolves four-year, $45 million offer.

Later on Thursday, reports began to surface that the Twolves had also extended an offer to Roy, who will attempt to return to action after early retirement because of knee injuries.
