Hassan Whiteside Visits Timberwolves For Second Workout

Hassan Whiteside will work out a second time for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota needs another center, but is severely hampered by a lack of salary cap room.

Presswire

Free-agent center Hassan Whiteside will work out for the Minnesota Timberwolves for a second time, the Star Tribute reported. The team sent a scout to look at Whiteside and will now bring him to Minnesota.

Whiteside, a second-round pick in the in the 2010 NBA Draft, was released this year by the Sacramento Kings. He played only 111 minutes in 19 games for the Kings, and has been limited by knee and ankle injuries.

The seven-footer has also struggled to live up to his potential, but with the Timberwolves severely limited by a lack of salary cap room they have to consider players they might otherwise ignore. Minnesota doesn't have much above a minimum one-year deal to offer in their search for a center to compliment the skills of Nikola Pekovic and Greg Stiemsma.
