Minnesota Twins Deal Jose Morales To Colorado Rockies

In an effort to get more bullpen help after losing a couple of key pieces, the Twins have dealt catcher Jose Morales to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for left-handed pitcher Paul Bargas.

Bargas is 22 years old, and was pretty good for Class A Asheville last season, putting together a 5-4 record with a 3.59 ERA. In 67.2 innings pitched, he gave up 57 hits, walking 19 and striking out 64.

Morales played in 19 games for the Twins in 2010, seeing time at catcher, first base, and designated hitter. He batted .194 in 36 at-bats, driving in 7 runs.

The folks at Twinkie Town will certainly have some more analysis of this move for the Twins, plus more details about the signing of Tsuyoshi Nishioka as they become available.
