Kelsie Smith from the St. Paul Pioneer Press is telling us that the Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles are, indeed, in talks to possibly send shortstop J.J. Hardy to the Baltimore Orioles.
Confirmed that #Twins are in talks with Baltimore about a trade for Hardy. More to come.
The names that have been talked about as coming back to the Twins in a potential Hardy trade have not yet been fully defined, but it's rumored that one of them could potentially be right-hander Brett Jacobsen, according to the Baltimore Sun. Jacobsen went 8-1 with a 2.79 ERA in 34 appearances for the Orioles' single-A club last season.
The Sun defines the Orioles' attempts to trade for Hardy as "serious," as they apparently attempted to trade for former Twin and current Tampa Bay Ray Jason Bartlett, and were unsuccessful.
