The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians will give it another go at Target Field on Saturday afternoon, after rain washed out the opener of a three-game set between the American League Central rivals.
No make-up date has been announced yet for Friday night's game, which gives the Twins two games that are in limbo, as no date has been announced for the game that the Twins missed at Yankee Stadium earlier this month, either.
The good news is that Justin Morneau will be back in the lineup for the Twins this afternoon. Morneau has missed the past few games with flu-like symptoms. Delmon Young will not be in today's lineup, however, but could be back tomorrow.
The rainout has caused the Twins to shuffle the pitching rotation a little bit. The Saturday match-up will still pit Brian Duensing (1-0, 3.60 ERA) against Fausto Carmona (1-2, 4.74). Francisco Liriano was scheduled to pitch on Sunday afternoon, but he has been pushed back to Tuesday's start against the Tampa Bay Rays at Target Field. Carl Pavano will pitch on Sunday against the Tribe and Carlos Carrasco.
The tarp is off of Target Field and there will be baseball in about an hour or so. . .be sure to check Twinkie Town for the game coverage, and come back to visit us for the recap when it's all said and done.
