Twins Look For Second Straight Win Over Royals

The Minnesota Twins snapped a four-game losing streak on Thursday night in Kansas City, and if they want to get a second consecutive win, they need a standout performance from the guy that came into this seasons with the expectations of being the Twins' ace.

Carl Pavano, who is currently 2-5 with an ERA of 5.19, has not been on the winning end of a decision since a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians back on April 24. In his six starts since then, he has had three losses and three no-decisions, and the Twins have been victorious in only one of his last six starts.

The Twins placed a lot of their power on the disabled list on Thursday, putting both outfielder Jason Kubel and designated hitter Jim Thome in the 15-day DL. Ben Revere was recalled from Rochester, and played well on Thursday night in Minnesota's 8-2 victory.

The Royals will be sending left-hander Danny Duffy (0-0, 4.11 ERA) to the mound. Duffy was called up by the Royals on May 18, but in his first three starts has yet to be credited with a decision in either direction. The Royals have lost all three of Duffy's starts to this point, including his last start on Sunday, which saw him allow three runs and five hits in six innings of work in a game the Royals wound up losing to the Texas Rangers by a score of 7-6.

First pitch for this one is scheduled for 7:10 PM Central time at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. For all of the in-game action, the place to be is in the Game Thread provided by our good friends at Twinkie Town, and we will have your recap for you when everything has finished up.
