The roster moves just keep on coming for the Minnesota Twins, as they have sent shortstop Trevor Plouffe to AAA Rochester, and called up outfielder Brian Dinkleman.
↵In eighteen games with the Twins, Plouffe has hit .200 with ten RBI, and has shown plenty of promise at times, but he has also had some mental lapses in the field that have put him in Ron Gardenhire's doghouse. Apparently the only way for him to escape was to dig a hole to AAA.
↵Brian Dinkleman is not the guy that co-hosted the first season of American Idol with Ryan Seacrest. That was Brian Dunkleman. (This is also the first time Brian Dunkleman has been mentioned in about seven years.) Dinkleman is listed as an outfielder, but he has played about half of his starts for the Red Wings this season at second base. He has hit .296 with a homer and ten RBI in ten games for the Red Wings this season. He arrived in Kansas City last night in time for the game with the Royals, but was not used.
