Twins Attempt To Keep Momentum Going Against Brewers

The Minnesota Twins will enter Saturday night's contest at Target Field looking for their fourth consecutive victory as they host the Milwaukee Brewers in the second game of a three-game series.

Francisco Liriano provided seven strong innings in the first game of the series, and Jim Thome's 594th career home run gave the team all of the offense they needed as the Twins were victorious by a score of 6-2 on Friday night. That game started after a two-hour rain delay, but no such delays are forecast at Target Field for Saturday night's contest.

The Twins will send right-hander Carl Pavano (5-6, 4.24 ERA) this evening against Milwaukee. Pavano faced the Brewers last Sunday in Milwaukee, and didn't fare terribly well. He allowed five runs on eight hits in six innings of work, as the Twins fell to the Brewers 6-2. It was the first time that Pavano didn't go at least seven innings in a start since May 13.

The Brewers will counter with left-hander Chris Narveson (5-5, 4.42 ERA). Narveson fared significantly better than Pavano did last Sunday, as he allowed two runs on five hits in 6.2 innings to conclude last weekend's Brewers sweep. He has won three of his last four starts to even his record.

First pitch for this one is scheduled for 6:10 PM Central time at Target Field. Twinkie Town is the place to be during the game as part of the Game Thread, and the recap will be up for your reading pleasure after the action has been completed.
