Minnesota Twins Fans: It's Happening

The Minnesota Twins started off the 2011 campaign pretty terribly, but nobody really needs to be reminded about that. Instead, let's focus on the good time as the teams rises in the AL Central standings.

In short? It's happening.

That's the phrase gaining steam from the Twins Territory faithful, led by the 1500 ESPN crew, as the team continues to look almost as hot as the temperature gauges outside of Target Field this July.

The Twins were, at one time, 16½ games behind the Cleveland Indians in the team's quest to the top of the division. Following Minnesota's victory over the Indians on Wednesday afternoon, helped tremendously by Danny Valencia, the team is just 5½ games back in the division.

As 1500 ESPN notes, this isn't the first time that the Twins have seemed poised for an incredible comeback:

In 2003, the Twins sat 7 1/2 games behind the Kansas City Royals in July. They won the division anyway.

In 2006, the Twins trailed the Detroit Tigers by 12 1/2 games at the end of May. They won the division anyway.

In 2009, the Twins trailed the Tigers by three games with four to play. They won the division anyway.

In 2011, #ItsHappening. Again.

This is good, but I kind of wish the 1500 crew would have went with a slightly different take: As J.P. from Angels in the Outfield once said, "Hey, it could happen."
