MLB Standings Update: Twins Can Make A Bit Of A Move This Weekend

After taking two out of three from the Tampa Bay Rays over the past couple of days, the Minnesota Twins have improved their lot a little bit, but can give themselves some pretty good momentum this weekend as they play their last series before the All-Star break.

Here is what the American League Central standings currently look like:

AL Central Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
Cleveland 46 39 .541 0 Won 1
Detroit 46 42 .522 1.5 Won 1
Chicago 43 45 .488 4.5 Lost 2
Minnesota 38 47 .447 8 Lost 1
Kansas City 36 51 .413 11 Won 2

The Twins will be kicking off a four-game series with the team right in front of them in the American League Central standings, the Chicago White Sox, at U.S. Cellular Field on Thursday night. The Twins could push themselves in front of the White Sox with a four-game sweep, but at this point it certainly appears as though the Twins will go into the All-Star break in fourth place in the American League Central.

The other American League Central teams will be partaking in four-game series this weekend as well, as the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals will be battling each other starting on Thursday, and the Cleveland Indians have a four-game set at home against the Toronto Blue Jays.
