Jim Thome's finally reached the 600 home run club after hitting two home runs on Monday night against the Detroit Tigers. Thome's 599th home came in the sixth inning and then followed up with the milestone blast in the seventh inning.
Luckily, Youtube has already provided the world with the necessary video of both home runs.
After Thome's 600th homer, the entire Twins dugout cleared out to greet their slugger and give him a hug. After he got through with his teammates, Thome's family was able to get on the field to give their words of congratulations.
It's quite impressive to see Thome reach the 600 home run mark as he only had one season where he led the league in the category -- he hit 47 dingers with the Philadelphia Phillies during the 2003 season -- but 21 seasons into his career, it's great to see him finally reach the milestone.
The Twins will hopefully be able to signify Thome's milestone with a milestone of their own in the way of a comeback victory against the Tigers.
