Yankees-Twins: New York Comes To Town To Start Long Homestand

Head on over to Twinkie Town for all of your Twins coverage.

The AL East leading New York Yankees visit Target Field for four games as the Twins begin an 11 game home stand that will also see a visit by the Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers.

For the Twins, they're coming off a series win at Detroit, something they hadn't done since mid-July, and that Tigers series also saw Twins slugger Jim Thome hit career home run 600.

Speaking of Twins sluggers, All-Star Micheal Cuddyer looks like he might be the next Twins player in a long list of players that have seen time on the disabled list.  Cuddyer hurt his neck while taking batting practice, of all things, last Friday before a game against Cleveland, and hasn't played since.  If he isn't able to go tonight, the Twins have said he will be placed on the 15 day disabled list.

For the Yankees, injured third baseman Alex Rodriguez will re-join the team in Minneapolis this weekend after a brief rehab stint in the minor leagues following surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

Brian Duensing faces CC Sabathia in the first game of the series, and first pitch is at 6:05.
