The Minnesota Twins have scheduled an end of season press conference for Friday, according to Tom Powers of the Pioneer Press. Team owner Carl Pohlad and general manager Terry Ryan will be in attendance, and will reportedly be addressing Ryan's status as interim general manager, the status of members of the coaching staff, and what the 2013 payroll will look like.
The team is scheduled to arrive back in Minnesota early Thursday morning, and then conduct meetings with the staff ahead of Friday's press conference. Ryan said that he wanted to talk to the staff before making any personnel changes.
After winning back-to-back AL Central titles in 2009-10, the Twins plummeted to last place in 2011, and followed that up with a dismal 2012 season. The team has failed to win 70 games for the second straight year, and some think that Ryan and manager Rob Gardenhire's jobs may be in jeopardy.
