Minnesota Twins center fielder Ben Revere became the first Twin to steal 40 bases in a season since Chuck Knoblauch stole 62 bases in 1997. Revere stole his 40th base when he took second base in the seventh inning of the Twins 6-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

The 24-year-old Revere stole his 40th base in his 122nd game of the season; he has been caught stealing seven times thus far this year. Revere's 40 steals puts him in third place in the American League and in a tie for fourth in the majors. Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels leads the league and MLB with 48 steals. Last year Revere stole 34 bases in 117 games, which set a Twins rookie record.

Knoblauch stole 40+ bases for the Twins from 1995-97, setting his personal best with 62 steals in 1997. He finished his career with 407 steals.
