Twins Vs. Rangers: Minnesota Faces Yu Darvish In Second Game Of Series With Texas

The Minnesota Twins (2-5) face the Texas Rangers (6-2) on Saturday afternoon in the middle game of a three game weekend series at Target Field.

The Twins dropped the opener of the home series on Friday, 4-1 as they struggled to even scratch one run across the plate against Texas pitcher Matt Harrison. All eyes will be on the mound for the Rangers on Saturday as much-heralded rookie Yu Darvish is scheduled to take the ball for Texas in his second start of the season. The 25-year old right hander from Japan had a rough start in his debut against Seattle, giving up four first-inning runs, but was able to settle down and ride some solid run support to an 11-5 win.

The Twins will counter right-hander Nick Blackburn who didn't get any run support and took a loss in his first outing of the season, getting chased from the game in the seventh inning. The Twins are looking for their big bats, Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau to get going and join Josh Willingham who has at least one hit in each of the first seven games.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET and will be televised on Fox.
