If the Minnesota Twins want to get something going in the early goings of this season, they can start on Monday with their home series against the Boston Red Sox. Boston is currently slumping with five straight losses including a particularly stinging one in their last game that saw their bullpen blow an eight run lead as they lost to the Yankees 15-9. It was so bad that Bobby Valentine got booed by the crowd at Fenway.
The Twins are on a bad streak as well with two straight losses, but nothing has been as bad as some of the losses that the Sox have seen this early season.
The first game of the three game set between the Sox and Twins will see Jon Lester take on Jason Marquis. Lester is 0-2 and has looked uninspiring so far, with his last outing ending in an 18-3 loss for Boston. Marquis didn't start the season particularly strong but was still able to earn the win despite getting a 7.20 ERA in the five innings he pitched.
The game will be at Target Field at 8:10 p.m. ET.
