The Minnesota Twins will try to snap a six-game skid Saturday in Game 2 of their three-game series with the Kansas City Royals.
The Twins' pitching has betrayed them lately, giving up 41 runs over their last six games. Then again, the offense isn't pulling its weight either: The Twins have 22 runs during that stretch.
Jason Marquis will start for Minnesota. He has two starts on the year and is 1-0 with a 7.25 ERA. Last time out, against the Red Sox, he pitched 6.1 innings and gave up 11 hits and five earned runs.
Soft-tosser Bruce Chen will be on the hill for the Royals. Chen is 0-2 despite a 2.52 ERA and 17-to-4 K-to-walk ratio.
This series will determine who occupies the AL Central cellar heading into May. After three straight wins, the Royals, 6-14, are one game ahead of the 5-15 Twins.
First pitch Saturday is set for 12:10.
