Drew Butera Recalled By Minnesota Twins, Could Replace Joe Mauer Or Justin Morneau

The Minnesota Twins have decided to bring a familiar face back up to the big club as they've announced that Drew Butera is being added back to the 25-man roster. The team didn't mention who he'll be replacing on the roster, though both Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer could miss Tuesday night's game due to injury.

According to the release posted on the team's website, the corresponding move will be announced sometime prior to Tuesday evening's game.

The Twins will recall catcher Drew Butera from Triple-A Rochester in time for Tuesday night's game against the Angels, the club announced. To make room for Butera on the roster, the club will make a corresponding roster move before the game.

In 15 games with Rochester, Butera hit .279 with three doubles, one homer and five RBIs.

Considering he's a catcher, it'd make sense that Mauer might be missing another game, even though Morneau is expected to be out until at least Friday.
