Justin Morneau Injury: Twins' 1B Will Rejoin Team Wednesday, Won't Need DL Stint

There was some good news for the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday afternoon.

First baseman Justin Morneau had an MRI on his sore left wrist and it came back showing only minor fluid/inflammation, according to beat writer Rhett Bollinger. Morneau is now on his way back to Anaheim to rejoin the team during their three-game series with the Angels, but he will not play on Tuesday night or Wednesday. According to team doctors, a trip to the disabled list isn't necessary and Morneau could return to the lineup as soon as Friday when the Twins are in Seattle for three games.

Morneau said he started to feel discomfort in the wrist during the Tampa Bay series and it progressively got worse before he was pulled on Monday night.
