Twins Vs. Tigers: Minnesota Tries To Halt Losing Streak Against Detroit

The Minnesota Twins host the Detroit Tigers in the second game of the weekend series between the two teams. The Tigers took game one on Friday by pounding out 16 hits to win 10-6 and in the process handing the Twins their fourth loss in the last five games including the last three in a row.

Minnesota will look to right-handed veteran Carl Pavano to stop the losing against the Tigers. Pavano is 2-3 on the season with a 4.91 ERA, including no decisions in his last two starts. Detroit will counter jright-hander Max Scherzer on the mound. Scherzer has been inconsistent as his 3-3 record indicates, but he is coming off of a strong outing in his last game when he struck out 15 batters in seven inning to earn a win over Pittsburgh.

The game at Target Field will start at 1:10 p.m. CT and will be televised on Fox Sports North.
