On Friday night, the Minnesota Twins will play the first game of a four-game set against the Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Coming into the series on the back of a two-game losing streak, the Twins will look to end the slide against one of their division rivals.

Kansas City will be entering the series with a three-game winning streak where the team has outscored opponents 21-6 during that span. The Royals have scored at least five runs in their last four games and have put up eight runs in three of the four.

The projected starters for Friday night are Brian Duensing for the Twins and Luis Mendoza for the Royals. Duensing is 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA over 37.2 innings pitched in 31 appearances and one start. Mendoza is 2-4 with a 4.95 ERA over 60 innings pitched in 13 appearances, eight of which were starts.
