Twins Vs. White Sox: Minnesota Looks To Avoid Sweep

If the Minnesota Twins want to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Chicago White Sox, they'll either need to start scoring more than four runs a game or start getting some better pitching to keep the Sox off the board as much. After 7-4 and 11-4 losses,

The Detroit Tigers will be hoping that the Twins will be able to snag a win in game three as well after dropping their first game to the Cleveland Indians in their own series. With the two straight wins over the Twins, the Sox pushed themselves into a tie for first place in the AL Central with the Tigers.

Game three's pitching match up would seem to be in Chicago's favor. They will send out Jake Peavy (7-7, 3.22 ERA), who has had a great season but has lost two straight starts, to the mound to face Nick Blackburn (4-5, 7.46 ERA) from the Twins. Blackburn has been inconsistent all year but might be coming off of his best performance of the season, allowing one run against Kansas City his last time out.

The game will be at 2:10 p.m. ET at U.S. Cellular Field.
