The Minnesota Twins' 2013 schedule was released Wednesday, with Minnesota set to open their campaign by hosting the Detroit Tigers on April 1 at Target Field. As Ben Gosseling of the St. Paul Pioneer Press points out, the series will mark the first time the Twins have started their season at home since Target Field opened in 2010.

Major League Baseball has adjusted the interleague play schedule in the wake of the Houston Astros' move to the American League. Rather than a concentrated period of interleague play, series against the National League will take place throughout the season. Minnesota will open interleague play against the Mets on April 12. The series will mark the return of Johan Santana.

The Twins not only start their season at home, but will close the schedule with seven games against Cleveland and Detroit.
