Minnesota Vikings 0, Detroit Lions 0 - Scoreless First Quarter In The Books

The first quarter of the season finale at Ford Field has gone by without any points being put on the board, but only because the Vikings dodged a Honolulu Blue and Silver bullet near the goal line.

After the Vikings’ first possession, the Lions took the ball 75 yards from the goal line. They managed to gain 74 of those yards, but Lions’ tight end Tony Scheffler got the ball knocked loose by Ben Leber as he stretched for the end zone, and the ball went through the end zone for a touchback for Minnesota.

The Vikings threatened on their second possession, but had to punt when the drive stalled, and the Lions have the ball deep in their own territory as the first quarter comes to an end.

Three quarters of Vikings football left in the 2010 season, and Minnesota and Detroit are scoreless.
