Now that the 2011 regular season is over. . .for the Vikings' purposes, anyway. . .the standings are set and we know who the Vikings will be playing in 2011.
↵Provided there's a 2011 season and all that.
↵Even though the Vikings finished in a tie for last place in their division for the first time since 1990, for scheduling purposes, they finished fourth in the division. That means that they'll be playing a "fourth-place schedule," which doesn't mean nearly as much as it used to in the NFL, considering that 14 of the 16 games each team plays are exactly the same, with only two different opponents being different.
↵Next season, the NFC North matches up with the NFC South and the AFC West. The "fourth-place schedule" comes in due to the fact that, because of their positioning in the division, the Vikings will play against the teams that finished in fourth place in the NFC West and the NFC East as well.
↵So, as a result of those things, the Minnesota Vikings' 2011 opponents are as follows:
↵Home Games - Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals
Away Games - Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins
