Another of the places that had the Vikings ranked at the bottom of the league when they fell to 0-4 was Fox Sports, who placed the Vikings at #32 last week. However, a victory for the Vikings gets them a jump upwards in their Week 6 NFL Power Rankings, taking them up four spots to number 28 in the league.
In their commentary, the Fox Sports folks note that that Adrian Peterson fellow is really pretty good.
Adrian Peterson posted his 15th multiple touchdown game on Sunday, which is the most in the NFL since his rookie season of 2007. They will need him to do that 11 more weeks this season if they want to win again.
Well, obviously Adrian Peterson having a big game is beneficial to the Vikings' chances of winning. . .he's a big reason why the team has had a chance to win all five of their games this season and could be 4-1 or 5-0 with a bounce here and there. Of course, if Brian Robison and Jared Allen can keep wreaking havoc the way they have during the first five games of the year (they've combined for 13 sacks thus far) and players like Chris Cook and Everson Griffen can continue to develop, it will not only give the Vikings more chances to win this season, but will also give them a solid foundation for 2012 as well.
