It is rare that a team is a double-digit underdog on its own home field, but that is where the Minnesota Vikings find themselves heading into Sunday's game with the rival Green bay Packers. According to SB Nation's odds partner Odds Shark, the Vikings are a 10-point underdog to Green Bay at the Metrodome.
It is a combination of factors that have resulted int he line. The Packers are the NFL's lone remaining undefeated team and were last year's Super Bowl winner. Christian Ponder is also making his first career start against a stout Packers defense. that makes Adrian Peterson an even larger factor:
If the Packers are going to lose in 2011, this is probably not the spot it will happen. They lead the league in scoring, are 6-2 ATS in the past eight trips to Minnesota, and seem unbeatable.
The Packers started as a 9.5 point favorite, but the line has already moved this week to a full 10 points.
