Minnesota Vikings CB Chris Cook Arrested For Domestic Assault

EDIT: Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that one of the charges against Cook is actually for felony domestic assault involving strangulation. So he's looking at a felony and a misdemeanor, not two misdemeanors as was originally reported. In addition, Cook is now listed as "Out" on the Vikings' official injury report.

Minnesota Vikings fans are accustomed to saying, "Well, at least it can't get any worse." The problem with saying that sort of thing is that, as fans of the Vikings should already know, not only can things get worse, but more often than not, they do.

Such is the case this morning, as it's been reported and confirmed that cornerback Chris Cook. . .who, to this point, has been one of the few bright spots on the team. . .was arrested on two misdemeanor counts of domestic abuse. The counts are for domestic assault and intentionally attempting to inflict bodily harm on another.

Cook is currently being held in the Hennepin County Jail without bail, and will not get out until a hearing is held. According to ESPN 1500's Tom Pelissero, that hearing won't take place until Monday, so Cook appears to be out for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Nothing good happens after midnight, ladies and gentlemen. . .this is simply more proof of that.
