Christian Ponder Fantasy Projection: Third NFL Start Not Expected To Go As Smoothly As First

Christian Ponder, the rookie out of Florida State University, will be making his third NFL start on Monday night at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. If you remember, Ponder made his first career NFL start vs. these same Packers Week 7 in Minnesota

In Ponder's first start, he played pretty well in front of the home crowd, but there's plenty of reason to believe that he won't repeat that performance. Numberfire.com suggests Ponder will have just over 200 yards and a touchdown in his rematch against the Packers.

Ponder threw two touchdowns and two picks against the Packers the first time around. The Packers typically give up a lot of points to opposing quarterbacks because they get up by so much that they force their opponents to throw a ton. At least that's what has happened in a handful of weeks this season, which is why the average points per game for Packers' opponents is over five points above the rest of the league's average.

You can do a lot better than Ponder this week, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could pick up some garbage points and, in turn, provide a fantasy team a serviceable week due to a need for a heavy pass attack.
