Thanks to other teams around the NFL being in action while the Vikings enjoyed their bye week the Minnesota Vikings are a few spots down in this week's SB Nation NFL Power Rankings. Joel Thorman has the Vikings sitting at No. 27 in this week's column, down two spots from last week:

27. Minnesota Vikings (2-6, LW: 25): Not a good season for Minnesota but, now that Christian Ponder is playing, the season won't be a complete waste. They'll find out who he is.

The Vikings face a difficult challenge this week when they visit the No. 1 ranked team in Thorman's rankings, the defending Super Bowl champion Packers. Ponder was very effective a few weeks ago when he made his first career start against the Packers in Minneapolis, and if the Vikings can end the Packers' undefeated run on the road it would provide a huge boost when Thorman does his column next week.
