Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson remains questionable to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with a high ankle sprain. With many fantasy leagues heading into playoff mode, no doubt many owners will wait until the last second to set their RB lineup while holding out hope that AP will give it a go.
If Peterson is unable to go, it will be the third game in a row that he has missed, leaving the primary running back role to Toby Gerhart. The second-year back found his grove last week against Denver when he rushed for 91 yards while also tacking on eight receptions for 42 yards.
Gerhart did not get in the end zone last week but his numbers are definitely trending in the right direction and fantasy owners looking for a late boost are taking notice. According to ESPN's latest Most Added/Dropped Player lists, Gerhart ranks fourth on the Most Added Players list.
But while Peterson sits and waits to return to the field, many fantasy owners are looking for RB help from Toby Gerhart. According to ESPN's latest Most Added/Dropped Player lists, Gerhart ranks third on the Most Added Players list. This is up one spot from last week when he ranked fourth, as Gerhart can now be found on a roster in nearly half (49.5%) of ESPN's fantasy leagues, an increase of 17.4%.
So while Adrian Peterson has been on the sidelines the past two weeks, he continues to impact fantasy football leagues.
