Say what you will about the Minnesota Vikings, but they're at least going to fight, it looks like.
The Vikings answered the Detroit Lions' most recent touchdown with a 10-play, 80-yard touchdown drive of their own on which Christian Ponder looked very good. After Toby Gerhart and Lorenzo Booker had a couple of carries to move the Vikings into Detroit territory, Ponder went to work. He made a great audible to hit Visanthe Shiancoe for a big gain, and found Percy Harvin for 17 yards on a big third down play to give the Vikings a first-and-goal at the Detroit 7.
On the next play, Shiancoe lined up next to Ponder in the backfield, faked like he was going to block, and took a nice screen pass from Ponder for a 7-yard touchdown and allowed Minnesota to cut the deficit to 21-7.
The Lions have again driven into Vikings territory as the first quarter comes to an end, with the Minnesota defense putting up little resistance.
