Adrian Peterson Likely Headed To Pro Bowl According To Latest Voting Totals

The Minnesota Vikings have certainly not had a season to remember, but at least one of its players is still looking like a lock to take part in the league's postseason festivities. Adrian Peterson won't be able to guide his team to the playoffs, but the currently-injured running back is doing well in Pro Bowl voting.

Peterson currently ranks as the sixth-highest vote-getter on the ballot with 811,640 total votes so far this season. He trails two NFC North foes in Aaron Rodgers and Calvin Johnson along with Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Drew Brees.

Peterson's closest competition is Philadalphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy with just over 753,000 votes so it's rather important that Vikings fans get out and vote if they want their team represented following the end of the regular season in just a few weeks.

The AFC and NFC All-Star squads are based on the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group's vote counts one-third toward determining the 43-man rosters that represent the American Football Conference and National Football Conference in the Pro Bowl. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes on December 21-22.
