2012 NFL Draft Order: Vikings Are In Line For A Top 3 Pick

For more on the Vikings, visit SB Nation's Daily Norseman.

With two weeks to go in the NFL season it is beginning to look as if the Minnesota Vikings will have one of the first three picks in the 2012 NFL Draft. The The Vikings are 2-12 going into the final three games, a record they share with the St. Louis Rams. The Indianapolis Colts currently hold the No. 1 pick at 1-13, but they closed their margin on Sunday with their first victory of the season.

As things currently stand, Minnesota would hold the No. 3 pick in the draft. They would be slotted ahead St. Louis based on a weaker schedule. Minnesota's strength of schedule is .429 compared to .536 for St. Louis.

The Vikings appear to be a lock for the top 3 as well. Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay each have four wins as the next worst teams in the league. the major question facing Minnesota then will be who to pick. Several top quarterbacks would be available at the No. 3 spot, but Minnesota has already invested a first round selection in Christian Ponder.
