The Minnesota Vikings are no longer at a point where they're competing in the NFC North, especially after dropping last week's game to the Denver Broncos. Minnesota had no answer for the offense run by Tim Tebow, and right now, they're just going to try and win games to build confidence for rookie quarterback Christian Ponder. That's been the theme of the season for the last few weeks, actually: confidence for Ponder. With Adrian Peterson potentially missing another game, it's going to be even harder for the Vikings to win.
CBS Sports keeps them at No. 29 in their Week 14 NFL power rankings:
29. Christian Ponder gives them hope for the future, but there are a lot of issues at other spots on this roster. How fast have they fallen from two years ago?
Sure, the Vikings didn't fall, but at this point, there's only three teams worse them them in the rankings: the Jacksonville Jaguars, the lowly St. Louis Rams and the winless Indianapolis Colts. Certainly not where Minnesota expected to be at this point in the season.
