Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen Tased, Arrested, Charged With Felony

I have officially changed the tag line on the "Hooks, Lines, and Sinkers" section of the site here. It had said that the Vikings were incident-free for 13 days. Well, thanks to defensive end Everson Griffen, the calendar is going to have to be reset on that.

Griffen was arrested on Monday afternoon near the University of Southern California campus. He was pulled over for a traffic stop, didn't have any identification, and then got angry with the officer. He then allegedly tried to flee, then allegedly assaulted an officer before needing to be subdued with a taser and taken into custody. He was charged with felony assault for going after the police officer.

(I keep using the word "alleged" because. . .well, innocent until proven guilty and all that, regardless of how hard it may be to suspend disbelief here.)

TMZ. . .and I don't know how the heck Griffen became TMZ material, but that's here nor there, really. . .is saying that this is Griffen's second arrest this week. Apparently he was arrested on Friday night and charged with being drunk in public. He was released from that one on Saturday.

I was actually thinking that the football gods were done kicking the Minnesota Vikings around for a little while. Turns out that I was wrong.
