Without Brett Favre on the roster this year, the Viking quarterback situation might not get as much attention as it has in years past; from the National media anyway. But it is in pretty bad shape, and the Vikings don't have anyone on the roster who could be called a definite "solution" at quarterback.
In a QB-driven league like this, the Vikings might need to find their quarterback of the future to instill some confidence in their fan base. That's why the guys over at SB Nation have the Vikings taking Washington QB Jake Locker in their latest edition of the 2011 NFL Mock Draft. Here is their rationale.
It's entirely possible that the Vikings look to go the veteran route at QB and continue to develop Joe Webb. Even if that's their mindset, they'll think long and hard about a high-upside, high-intangible guy like Locker.
Locker is anything but a sure thing, but he represents a pretty good amount of upside at the quarterback position. He obviously needs to improve on his accuracy and decision making, but he has all the physical tools that you would want out of your quarterback.
